Services Cancelled • Sunday, December 8
Due to developing weather conditions and the Winter Storm Warning in place for northern Fauquier County, servicees at Hope Christian Fellowship are cancelled for December 8. Enjoy a quiet time at home with the Lord. Stay warm, and stay safe!
Home for the Holidays
Sunday Mornings in December
The holidays are a time for family and friends gathering around a cozy fire, basking in the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree, singing carols, and sipping eggnog. It's a time for joy and peace together. But what if our relationships fail to measure up to the Christmas card ideal? What if there's unresolved tensions lurking amidst the tinsel and traditions? Join us this month as we explore God's perspective of relationships and discover how to experience the peace and joy we all crave.
Family First Friday
Friday, December 6, 7:00 PM
If you have elementary-age children, please join us for a fun evening for the whole family. We’ll meet at Hope at 7:00 PM and then go caroling at neighboring homes. Afterwards it’s back to the church to warm up and share some hot cocoa and desserts. Please bring a dessert to share. Friends are welcome! Contact Melissa Mayhugh with any questions.
Young Adults Dessert Auction
Sunday, December 8, 11:30 AM
Hope's Young Adults are journeying to Passion 2014 in Atlanta this January, and they need help to pay for the costs of food, gas, hotel, and vehicle. Bring your most fabulous and delicious cakes and pies, and watch your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ “duke it out” for your culinary masterpieces! For more information, contact Jeanne Allen.
Jolly Holiday Traveling Dinner
Saturday, December 21, 5:00 PM
We’ve got a very special social event on Saturday, December 21, beginning at 5:00 PM, for our entire church this Christmas . It’s sort of like what happens when you take one of Hope's fabulous “Mystery Dinners” on the road, with each course ending up in a new place with new people, until we all get together for desserts and carol-singing back at Hope. Don’t miss this great night of fellowship! Contact Margo Heine for more information.
Christmas Choir Rehearsal
Sunday, December 22, 12:30 PM
We're putting together a special choir for our Christmas Eve service, and will be performing a composition from local artist, Jacob Lash. There's just one rehearsal on Sunday, December 22, from 12:30-2:00 PM. Come join us (teen through adult); no need to read music! For more information, Contact Margo Heine.
Tuesday, December 24, 7:00 PM
Join us at Hope on Christmas Eve at 7:00 PM to celebrate the incarnation of Christ amidst candlelight, beautiful music, communion together, and a message of great joy. This is always a special, sacred time for our church family.
Praising in Pajamas!

Hope's annual New Year celebration has been so popular, we’re doing it again! Come to church in your PJs on January 5 (seriously!) and enjoy breakfast as we come together for worship. Bring a breakfast item to share. Pastor Scott will be flipping pancackes once again... as he preaches!

Growing Youth Program
High School Small Groups Launch in January
As our programs for Middle School and High School students continue to grow each week, we've been excited to add new leaders and event coordinators.
Additionally, beginning in January, we're going to offer an additional growth setting for High School students. At Hope we're convinced that Small Groups are one of the best settings for people to build relationships and discover the practical impact of God's grace in their daily lives. Yet with so many kids coming to our Wednesday night event, even breaking into groups for discussion results in somewhat larger groups.
So we're launching Small Groups for High School students. These new groups will meet on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and will supplement the youth's main event on Wednesday evenings. Groups will be organized according to gender, and led by our great adult volunteers. This endeavor is an experiment for us; after three months we'll evaluate what worked and what needs changing in order to continue providing the best possible setting for relational and spiritual growth.
